Changes

Today is my Dads birthday. And i can see that birthdays arent rly becoming a big deal in my family anymore. Were growing up..some being more mature than others might i add. But were all also adults, we all have our separate lives. One child doesnt live at home anymore, the other works at weekends and the other sleeps to catch up on the days she has worked...guess which one i am!?

In our family over the years it has been a tradition for someones birthday that we all get up early make the person breakfast and go into their room and wake them up by singing "happy birthday" and bringing breakfast in bed and presents. This year that happened twice out of a possible five times. the lucky people were Luke and Mum. Stephen celebrated turning 21 in Spain while i was in Kilkenny, and although i did get sung happy birthday and made a fool of..i didnt get breakfast in bed...On that subject..I dont think i have ever gotten breakfast in bed...and people think im the spoilt child?

ANYWAY Dad has always been a hard person to get up and sing happy birthday to because he was always the first person awake in the house... without a doubt. He prob has been up and out before any of us get up to go to school or do anything. And this morning was no different..wel actually i wouldn;t really know because i was sleeping. My dad got a grunted "happybirthday" when he left at half 9 to go up the moment to show off his new rainproof hill walking jacket..great birthday present huh!?!? I heard my brother go in and say happy birthday before he left for work. Dad however did get his breakfast in bed as I heard mum walking down the stairs to get it..but she was bak in bed when he left the house.
Dad was gone til after 3 this afternoon walking to his heart content. Mum went shopping, Luke worked and there is stil no sign of the other sibling, although we have had a phone call. Maybe this evening the birthday atmosphere will arrive when we have dinner

strange huh!? When your young you cant wait for your birthday, you have a sleepless night, you watch as the clock turns 12.00 and your are now a year older. but it seems things chenge.. Things i dont like changing. I quite like the family ritual of been dragged of bed and groaning and mumbling happybirthday, dying for the birthday person to open there presents sou could go bak 2 bed because it was so cold.

Next year I turn 18, and Luke turns 21. What wll we be doing on our birthday, which is a tuesday...I have a feeling working. I loved my birthday, because i was always off school. It was usually midterm break then. I remember the year i turned 10 i went in to town with my friend and i went to the bank to put money in and i felt so big and grown up, I didnt have my mum holding my hand..i was cool.

It's all changing, even though i still am cool.

Does a picture really speak louder than words??

Again Im blogging... amazing I know! but now that i dont have long days in which I have 2 come home and do MORE work... Ive taken back to my old constantly talking ways.

So Ive been pondering the phrase "A picture speaks louder than words", and am still undecided about whether or not i completely agree!! Yes it does, but yet again it doesn't. It does when your tryin 2 describe something, for example If i was trying to describe my debs dress to you, I would not be able to do it justice by saying "its a purpley pink colour with gold embroidery and a little bow and it flows down to the ground and it has little straps that u can take off and its lovely!" Sounds amazing doesnt it... NOW if i showed the picture...well that would make a major difference to the dress!! You are probably imaging a big frumpy thing lik something out of the 80's or something like that...now i could be completely wrong! In that case a picture does speak louder than words.

But I think someimes leaving it to your imagination is a much better idea... For example when reading a book!!! I love the way that the writer describes the bad person and the hero!! Or the surroundings!! U make it how u want it to look, you decide wat the bad person and the hero look like, you can make the beautiful princess look the most unattractive person alive!! I love it... and then when Books are made into films your imagination is shattered, because its not always portrayed as how u imagined!
Another thing...when you exagerate the situation!! Have u ever seen scrubs??? And someone says something to JD... you always see how he imagines things, wat its like in his mind! I love that part!! Because it is wat everyone else is like in there minds! For example if sum1 txtd me sayin "have 2 clean my room, its a pigsty"..I of course..Im sure u can see this comin.. Imagine 2 fat pigs covered in mud rollin round ina whole load of much, a bed covered in hay etc etc...but in reality when u see it..its jst a bunch of clothes on the floor both dirty and clean a whole load of dust and rubbish..not rly my idea of a pigsty...just my humble abode!!

So thats where I cant decide on the picture speaks louder than words...

The Joys of working

Yesterday, Tuesday the 18th of September, I had an interview for a new job in a chemist at 7 o'clock after work. I was longing for the day to be over and to go to my interview. But the day couldnt have been longer. At 4 4o'clock the end was near...but alas... we had to have some sort of problem!! Two girls who came into the shgop before and caused trouble..when i wasnt there, came in to the shop. They looked suspicious so I grabbed the Walkie talkie and walked over to them. My manager was chnaing the shop around so I was pretty much on my own. The girls were messing and as they walked a way I saw one of the girls kick a hanger under the gondala and then she turned around to look to see if i saw. I looked under and saw the hanger and was about to tell my manager, but before I could she started sayin "why are you following me? wat are you following me for?" Instead of calling my manager I just called for security straight away. Maybe no the best of moves. The girl picked up the hanger and came over to me and started shouting abuse at me " here's your hanger wat are you callin security for, the hanger was on the ground all along". I again called security and did not respond to the girls abusive comments. The other girl was at the door shouting abuse at my manager. When security arrived the man stood there and did nothing, my manager said "get out of my shop i dont want you girls in here get out of my shop". The girls finished there shouting and comments and walked out of the shop... with or without a top.. and hopped into a car and drove off!! My heart was beating so fast and I was so terrified but they were gone.

6o'clock eventually came and we kep tgetting calls to stuff for the shop over in Blanchardstown... 10 past 6 and we were still there... eventually we got out of the shop after 20 past 6 and I ran to Esther's to get changed and headed for my interview. All went well i hope but until i hear from them in 2 weeks time i am stil an employee of the Jean Scene Westend...putting her life in danger for the clothes!..that arent even nice!!!
